I know the TH42PD3 in the uk. The discretes on the files section work on the plate itself. In the UK you can buy the tuner which has a different set of on and offs with the on needing to be sent twice or more to switch it on .The very first model of panasonic plasma in the uk i believe was made by fujitsu then every one since is made by themselves pana plasmas have a very high contrast ratio often 3000:1 which they bragg about in there literature that normally tells you its a pana

I'm waiting on a PT-50PHD4-P to ship, and was wondering about discretes for it. Does anyone know if the supplied remote for this monitor has them (on,off, input)?
Thanks
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

search the 'one for all' forum and the 'home theater master' forums for my name and Panasonic...

I found them, but don't remember them off the top of my head...

you'll need a Cinema 7 remote to teach the MX700 those discretes...
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

Panasonic is one of the few that actually builds the entire product (glass, electronics, bezel) for all of the plasma displays they offer.

Anybody checked with Panasonic's pro display division tech support for the discrete codes? Both the consumer and commercial models are identicle so either the PT-42PD3-P or the TH-42PWD5UY codes should work.

The best way to control a panasonic is with a Celedon RS232-IR module, then there is no guess work and it will control every command of the plasma. You can get one at Celedon.com. If you have any problem email me at [email protected].
