I got an MX-3000 for Christmas. Can someone tell me how to download
Pics from the Internet and use them as Backgrounds on this remote?

First, as everyone else will tell you later........Post this in the URC MX-3000 forum........

Second use a paint program and create a 320x 240 picture out of the picture you want and then use it as the button for the backround.

1. Find the picture
2. Save the picture
3. Make the picture fit 320x240
4. Make a button
5. Use the image import button on the right side above the picture.
6. DONE

For your background pictures, are you making sure that the whole background is highlighted?

Just adding a new button and then importing any image within the size limit with put whatever picture into that button regardless of the size...........now on the other hand if you already have a button with picture or icon in it and you try a larger picture to go into that button it won't let you go larger...........You have to start with a new button and then you can have any size you want....

I've programmed all of the Universal Remotes and this is my first MX3000. I have no problem programming this remote. I can get it to do everything I need it to do, except downloading a picture onto the screen. I can get all the contest entries on to the MX3000.
I run an Audio Video Company and have no problem with all other things. I just have a problem resizing my pictures. I've used paint, Jpeg Express, Picasa 2, and Graphic Converter. I just can't get the hang of resizing. Thanks for all of your help and I'll just keep pluggin away at this problem. Here is my cell # 941-628-8468. If someone could walk me through it I would be very greatfull.

Thanks,
MONKEE 00

I just have a problem resizing
my pictures.

Do you have Photoshop?

If so, go under "Image" on the toolbar, then "Image size". From there, you can change the pixel dimensions or the actual measurements.
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

OK, I did photoshop and resized picture, but I still can't download into remote. I saved the picture and tried to retrieve it from mx editor software. No matter what I do I can not download any pics. I have saved the picture to various files or folders and still can not retrieve pic. I'm at a loss, but thanks so much for everyones help. I feel like an idiot.

Thanks,

Did you hit "save as" and then pick the JPEG, GIF, PNG or BMP format from the pulldown under where you type the file name. Photoshop defaults to its own format. Even if the pictures are JPEGs to begin with it will convert them to its own file format when save them unless you tell it to save in a diferent format.

Can you import any of the default buttons? If not then you are missing a step in the above instructions.

Hey Bob, I did as you said. I can resize any pic to any format. But I still can't use a pic as my background on my mx3000 remote. I'm having trouble transfering a pic from pc to remote. I'm missing a step somewhere.
