I AM HAVING PROBLEMS UPLOADING MY DEVICE TO MY PC, IT GIVES ME A MESSAGE SAYING THAT COM PORT ONE IS OPEN,BUT NO RESPONSE FROM RC DEVICE. I HAVE TRIED USING AN USB/PDA ADAPTER AND AN USB/SERIAL ADAPTER, AND NONE OF THEM SEEM TO WORK. I HAVE TWO PC'S ONE HAS WINDOWS ME AND THE OTHER HAS XP. IT GIVES ME THAT SAME ERROR MESSAGE ON BOTH COMPUTERS. I HAVE TRIED CALLING MARANTZ TECH SUPPORT, BUT THEY SAID THEY WILL CALL BACK AND I'M STILL WAITING. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE, AND IF SO HOW DID YOU DO IT? I DON'T HAVE A DEFECTIVE DEVICE CAUSE IT WORKS, I JUST CAN'T GET IT TO WORK ON MY PC.

Is your com port open when the Marantz program is not running? Maybe it is open with another program, so it is not available to talk to your remote. I have a PDA set up on my computer on the port I use for the remote, and I always have to close that program before uploading to the remote.
When you tried using the adaptors, did you note what port they use and readdress the program to match?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I CAN UPDATE FIRMWARE SUCCESSFULLY. I AM UNABLE TO USE MY TOUCHSCREEN SET-UP. I HAVE DISCONNECTED MY PDA AND I AM STILL UNABLE TO UPLOAD FROM MY DEVICE.

First of all, please stop typing in all caps, it is considered shouting.

Make sure to tap the screen before download to make sure the remote is "awake". It also helps to extend the screen ON time to 60 seconds to make sure the screen is active long enough for the download to take place.

Dave,
Okay I have done what you said, I have extended the screen on time to 60 seconds, I've tried it again and still I recieve the same error message.
