I've not had good luck with DVI or HDMI cables over 25' but I am going to try it again. We've installed the new Mits 3000 DLP PJ in our showroom - running on component for now - and have ordered a 40' HDMI cable from Liberty to feed the PJ. Unfortunately it has to be that long to reach the rack.

Has any one had any sucsess with HDMI over 35'? If so what brand did you use and what type of equipment? (source brand and PJ or plasma brand)

As a side note, this new 1280x768 Mits DLP looks hella good out of the box. I haven't even had a chance to tweak it yet - it is very impressive for $3k. It needs some gray scale calibration and seems to have a lot of user adjustments to accomadate someone who knows what they are doing. It will definetely cut into dlp sales in the $6-9k range.

The Key Digital HD-Pythons are the only DVI or HDMI cables that seem to work well over 25'... They have cables up to 50 ft.

I agree with 2nd Rick on the Key Digital HD-Pythons, I also have had great success
with GEFEN products and there support.

What Source are you feeding the MITS PJ. I'm a MITS dealer and need a new PJ for my showroom. The last two were an NEC HT1100 (it was OK) and the MARANTZ VP12S4 (that was awesome).

I'm using the Gefen HDMI->CAT5 converter with 40' of Belden CAT5e. Rock solid. Power supply is needed on the sender side only.

I have used Pure Link Fiber Optic HDMI cables for long runs, not cheap but excellent.

Can be run up to 100 meter .

Key Digital's HDMI come in lenghths up to 75 feet. With the in line repeater you can go up to 150 feet. I have yet to use the repeater but have many an installation with 75 ft cables.

Robert,

We currently will be driving the Mits 300 pJ with a NAD 534 DVD player (hdmi). We should get the 40' Liberty in next week and I will report back.

Component video on this new PJ looks pretty good, rivals anything I've seen under $10k. I'll also report back on this new PJ once I've logged some time with it.

If the Liberty doesn't fare well, I'll get a Key Digital. I tried a KD 50' DVI cable (don't think it was a Python though) about 2 years ago and got sparkles at 720p. I ended up sending it back.

Hey guys, we have a 15 meter (49') cable that works great and is CL rated.
We also have an active restorer thats works great.
With our 30 meter cable we have a 100' package that has been HDMI certified.
