Does anyone remeber the deal with the Mits RPTVs from about 5 years ago that we supposed to have an HD box upgrade with a single cable that connected to the TV?

The Mits site has NOTHING on this subject. Searching the net revealed nothing as well. Does anyone remember the deal with this or have a site with info or even model #s??

Thanks.

Boy That was a while ago,

If I think I know what your asking On 1999-2000 model RPTV Mits had a single RGB bnc connection as the DTV input on the back of the TV'S. (I beleive it was proprietary)

If I remember correctly the input will not accept anybody elses RGB signal.

They made 2 options I beleive.

1. A standalone terestrial box for off air HD signals.

2. A converter box you could run component 3 wire into or RGB via a 15 pin VGA connector. It would convert the signal to Mits standard. Model # was RGV-CV10.

Once the box is installed and powered you will need to add the input into net command as an available input on the tv.

Mits parts department may still have the part. You can call them at (800) 888-6773.

Good luck

Jason

two references to Mitsubishi's "promise module":

My recollection is that they never "promised" a particular price for such an add-on module, which makes any such promise moot--easy enough to promise future compatibility if you can charge any price. Last price for the promise module, I think, was about $1k.

If you want to email me personally with your issue, I can probably hook you up with an appropriate Mitsu person, or dig up my old notes from their line shows.

Their Promise Module was a good idea for the time, when prices were so high and the technology so uncertian, but with prices dropping so fast, may as well buy a new TV.
