I have installed a Sony 42B1U plasma a while back. I need to install another 42 inch. I am wondering if anyone has experience with the new model - 42B2U.How long has this model been out? I have not seen it in person yet. Does it perform significantly better with both video and computer inputs then the first model 42B1U?
I do not want a 42 inch with an DVI interface box - I have been looking at the Pioneer Elite and now heard that the new Sony was out. Does anyone have an opinion on which model is better?

The new Sony PFM42B2 is better. See this Review:

I have a B1, but I will change it for the new model.

Sony does not make their glass, I would buy another unit before a Sony. NEC or LG both make good units and the DCDI in the LG is built by Faroudja.

That's right, I neglected to mention them (fujs) because I think the NEC in 42" is better.
Sony ruled the industry for years, I think it is finally openned right up!
