Hi,
My boss has advertised on the internet for programming remotes i have done a few remotes and everytime each cutomers equipment has been every programer's nightmare. The newest is a customer who want's an mx850 & mrf250 he has 2 hughes hr10-250's. My problem is that if you try to do rf on those it doesn't work well & at install's I take off the front cover of the unit & put the ir or rf emmiter on the sensor, but I can't make a customer do that and if he bypasses rf & does ir the codes will affect both unit's any ideas?
thanxs,
matt

Have you tried using different IR code sets? In the manual it will tell you how to set this up.

Would a 300 with the emitter toned down do the trick?

I don't use URC at work. I have an 850 at home that I used for the ... should we sell this thing... Its in IR only but my friend at the other sop down the road swears by the 300s rf attenuation.

For a Pronto I end up taping the flasher just outside of the IR windows for the tivo. Or I tape it to the shelf its sitting on. Contact is between 95-98% I think the thing just gets overloaded with my emiters but now I can turn the down on the 6500RFX.

But I have often heard of issues with URCs RF anyways... Part of why I don't use them at work.

Well that and the outcomes of our guinepig trials... (giving new programed remotes to friends and family to try out. If they call for help then we know customers ain't gonna get it.)
