Aaron,
The new NECs have a black bezel.
It's such a fine line between stupid, and clever.

My first Fuji install was over 5 years ago... 42"... Still worksgreat, but fortunately or not. It's not $14,000.00 anymore.

$14,000... That's what this guys was paying each month for his RENT!

His 10 year lease will be up soon... I hate to see the raise in rent he has coming.
Jet Rack ... It's what's for breakfast

Fuji for those who want the best in silver, Pioneer
Elite for those who want black.

By the way, since Pioneer has done away with their
monitor-only pro1010HDI and gone strictly media
box system on their 43" and 50" panels, does anyone
have suggestions for a top-notch 50" panel (tv
or monitor-only) that HAS to be in black and is
easily 50 ft away from the equipment stack? I
know that there are after-market companies that
make these (key digital) legnth system cables
for Pioneer,Sharp, and Sony media-box systems,
but I would prefer to stay away from them in this
install. Just fishing for other input on this
subject. Thanks for any help or ideas.

You need to become verrified. This has already been discussed, tried by others and the opinion confirmed; though I have not heard from oex whether his experience met with his approval. I, for one prefer some topics remain amongst ourselves.

The digital factory bezels arent industrial at all. In fact, they even laser etch the Fujitsu logo where it belongs. They look very factory - to the point that at CEDIA trainer Dave showed me a secret set that had a digital factory bezel option from the Fujitsu factory available to order as a stock unit. Not sure what happened with it, but it sure looked good.

We display it side by side with the Elite. Close
call which is better. Consensus around the store
is that the Fujitsu is marginally better with
live TV, and the Elite is better with movies,
shows and SD

I agree. Done both, even one each in one home. The whites and blacks are sooo much better on these two then the others. Had no problems with operation on either. 65" Elite did give me fits with a repeater, though. Gives off a lot of IR noise, most likely because of it's size.
We had our cabinet maker do a simple wood frame around them to match the cabinets. Made a huge difference in the looks. Had to pry off the glued on Fujitsu emblem in the front to get a flush fit, no sweat. Took the frame down to the local dealer, hoping to get some business for my cabinet guy, all there loved it, got a few orders that day. I would send some pictures if I could figure out how to attach them......

At one time Fujitsu was the only plasma maker in the market and everyone used their panel. While still a maker of displays, their dominance as a panel supplier is all but gone. Their 50/50 joint venture with Hitachi is now down to 20/80 with Hitachi the major principal. Fujitsu has also sold off their LCD panel business to Sharp. So as the once driver of the technology, Fujitsu has become primarily an integrator, like most everyone else. It's too bad, but I think their future in this business is uncertain at best. The panel business is extremely competitive, much worse than CRT ever was, and things are only starting to heat up. If you can make money with Fujitsu for now great, but I wouldn't expect this to last.
