I finally lashed out and bought one of those Dewalt 18v Cordless Kits with drill, sabre saw, circular saw, right-angle drill.
With limited space in my personal vehicle (I take my tools home with me), I'm unsure if I should put the corded versions in storage, or just take the battery drills, and keep the corded versions in the car.
Has anyone else got a purely battery power tool collection?

In the truck, we typically keep, 2 18V cordless, 1 corded hammer drill, 1 corded Milwaukee right angle. We use the cordless 90% of the time, but still occasionally need the extra power like a couple of weeks back when a 1"x24" hole was needed in poured concrete.

I rarely use a corded tool anymore. I've been using 18v Dewalts for years but you have to keep at least one corded drill with you. The day will come that you'll need it and it will cost you a second trip if its in your car.

Agreed. I actually do mostly light work and have a couple of cordless drills. I carry corded tools as well: a Skil saw, jig saw and Milwaukee Hole Shooter. The hole shooter is NOT the hole hawg people have been writing about, but it covers me.

I can't imagine that if you need a jig saw or a rotary saw on a regular basis that a cordless model would suffice. If you need one once in a blue moon, I can't imagine that you would bother to carry it all the time.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I still like my corded tools. cheaper, more powerful and longer lasting than the cordless cousins. Cordless works great for a lot of different things but when I go to do a prewire the extension cords come out.

I use the 18v DeWalt cordless kit all the time (mostly the hammer drill and flex light). I do also carry a corded drill on rough wires. I also use the sawzall and circular saw on many occasions. I own a corded sawzall but rarely use it. I have owned this 18v kit for appx 4 years now and have been very happy with it. I would buy it again. I currently own 5 batteries and 2 chargers. Some of the older batteries have lost a little of their spunk - and are only good for screwing, but the newer batteries have lots of juice for the heavier jobs. I might buy a few more batteries soon.

I run cordless about 90% of the time(maybe more!)

If I'm doing a pre-wire and the temp is around 10 degrees, out comes the corded drill!

A corded right angle grinder with a diamond blade makes short work of any retro's that involve tile, brick, or hardi siding.

Other than that, it's cordless all the way!

I've also had good luck with DeWalt.

In four years I've had no malfunctions.(those that think the chucks suck should try giving them a shot of lube occasionally!) The original batteries have lost some power so I use them in my flashlight. The two 'new' xrp's are a year old and still work like new.

I also bought there 'car charger'.
It seems my batteries always start to run down about the time I'm ready to head to the next job.

It's nice to be able to recharge on the way. It also has the 'tune-up' circuitry to prolong battery life. The best $50 I've spent in a long time.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

I have the following in my van.
2 Milwaukee 18v cordless drills
1 makita 12V cordless impact (this is my screww gun)
1 Milwaukee corded sawzall
1 Ryobi 18v cordless sawzall
1 Ryobi cordless circular saw
1 Makita corded circular saw
1 milwaukee corded right angle drill (prewires)
1 milwaukee corded hammer drill (can't live without it)
My next drill is going to be the milwaukee 18v close quarter drill. This thing looks awesome for tight spots.
I also just bought a dewalt 12" double bevel mitre saw, and table. (This doesn't stay in my van though)
Oh yeah, and I have an air compressor that stays in my van. It's just a little pancake compressor. Love it for blowing jetline through conduit.
I carry a brad nailer, and staple gun just in case.
No wonder I have no room in my van.
I have tried leaving stuff behind, but everytime I do, I end up needing it..

All our vans carry Dewalt:
1 18v 1/2" drill
1 14.4v 1/2" drill
1 14.4 Right angle drill
2 18v Circular saws (1 trim, 1 metal cutting)
1 18v impact drive
1 18v vac large
1 18v vac small (just added because our dewalt dealer gave us them for free)
1 18v recp saw
1 18v jig saw
1 18v flex light
1 18v piv head light
1 24v sds hammer drill w/120 volt adapter
1 radio chager
1 120v drill motor
1 120v demo hammer drill
THats the list of standard stock tools driver add as they need/like. we are primarily an electrical contractor. We use to have a $1000.00 a day tool limit but they cut it down to $150.00 cause some of the drivers got out of control.

We got to test some of the new 36volt tools Dewalt is coming out with and all I can say is WOW.
