Yes, This is excellent news!
I called Pioneer tech today about the discretes for the PDP 42A3HD / 4214HD. According to them there are none and they have no intention of producing them either. It is "an entry level scaled down version for Costco". No discretes, no anchors. Only bandaids and apologies if we're willing to attempt to integrate them into a real AV system.
Yippee. Now I can sell the good stuff against Costco again.
By the way, I realize that "tech" and "support" are generally oxymorons when discovered in front of a "contact" phone number. This surprisingly knowledgable guy knew what I was talking about and gave me the same answer all three ways I asked it.

Actually Steve it was the "knowledgable" reference I found to be the oxymoron. I am shocked at tech supports lack of knowledge about a relatively small amount of equipment. It sure isn't just Pioneer that has that problem. I like the ones you call and Habeb answers and goes through a programmed list of stupid responces and then tells me "thanks for calling, is there anything else I can't help you with?"

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"... |
