Greg C,
yeah, you can hit Mute, and as I think about my approach, I see that I am sort of a wise guy so I would go for the more elegant way -- if the amp is muted and anybody touches Mute or Volume Up or Volume Down, the amp unmutes. I think that most people would hit the volume control if the zone were silent before thinking to change the input, so changing the input is a method less susceptible to accidental un-"muting."

Also, since I always look at this process from the point of view of a programmed remote that can do macros, it is more of a natural to go to an unused input.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

any ideas on how to get the 3803 to trigger the mutes on audioplex vol controls for zone 2?

the "assignable " 12v trigger is for main amp functions only.

Can anybody help me on this one, regarding MultiZone 2 on Denon 4802:

My Denon 4802 user manual says that one may assign the surround back speakers to separate 2 stereo speakers on Multizone 2.
I’ve used the Multizone 1 Pre-Amp and connected it to a power Amp. in another room.
To my great disappointment, I’ve discovered that both Multizone 1 and my two speakers on "Multizone 2" get the same source (selected for Multizone 1). Moreover - I cannot disconnect the 2 separate speakers while activating my Multizone 1.
I saw that the Aktis rc-8000 has page 5/5 which allegedly controls “MULTIZONE 2”, but in fact does nothing (at least when I tried it).
My solution was to connect my pre-amp Multizone the the Rec. Out, and leave the 2 speakers act as Multizone 1.
Does anyone knows what the Multizone 2 page 5/5 on the Actis rc-8000 used for?
Can I connect the 2 additional speakers instead of the 2 surround back speaker, and yet use it as a separate multizone BESIDE Multizone 1 ?
Does Denon 4802 have 1 or 2 multizones?
Thanks a lot,

Those codes are for the 5800 and 5803 which have 3 zones, the 48,38,2802's only have the 2 zones

I have an old Denon 3300. I assign an unused input in main room and it works fine. However I have never managed to figure out why the multi button scrolls between multi source source and rec out source. These do exactly the same thing. Is there a difference?
