Has anyone tried the new drills out from Millwauke or Makita. Makita is running 18V, but their competitor is running somthing like 28V.

Just in the market to buy myself a little somthin for the hollidays, ya know.

lol, I appriciate the offer, but no thanks. Maybe DeWalt just doesnt perform well in Cincinnati. I am the only one at the shop that has never purchased a DeWalt but everyone else has. They all stare at my Milwauke with envy. The batteries, chucks and gear boxes just dont hold up. MHO

I'm somewhat of a Bosch tools fan myself. Once I started using their kick ars jigsaw a few years back, I was hooked. I do, however, own some tools that I feel are just the best in their categories, such as Milwaukee Saw-zalls and Hole Hawgs. I've even got a couple of old beat-up DeWalt 12volt right angle drills, since Bosch still doesn't make em. I'm on my 4th set of batteries for them.

I use milwaukee, I priced out the 28v kit the other day. 715.00...
One of the guys at the elect warehouse told me that the battery solder points are terrible. If you drop it, the solder point snaps, and your buying another battery....
I didn't actually look at the battery myself.. I love my milwaukee 18v so will stick with it... I actually have 2- 18v drills. A right angle drill, and the hammer drill. I have owned them for 3 years, and never had a problem. Have bought 2 new batteries though.
