I only have coax going to the TV located in an area too far for RF transmission. Is their such a product that will allow both IR and Satellite signals to be passed through the same coax. If so what product

Thanks in advance

Can't use a Xantech kit, I know.

What about a pair of wires off the phone line?

Why not diplex the line? Satellite on the high side, and I/R on the RF/low frequency side? Use a Xantech piece that allows IR over RF distribution on the low freq side? Not sure if this will work, never tried.

Just thinking out loud.
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

Diplexing is going to allow voltage on the satellite side be directed to the lnb, but will keep the ir (which is also a voltage) from passing. Having two seperate voltages on the same line won't work.

I agree. This has come up several times over the last few years and nobody has ever come back to say that it worked...when they ignored us.

The two wires on a phone line idea could work, but it might not. It has to do with the impedances, mostly capacitance, on the line, if you use that pair to send a signal to and LED. However, if you use three wires, where one is power, one is ground and one is signal, and have the sensor at one end and the terminal block and LED at the other end, well, that is just exactly the way Xantech recommends that you wire things up. They never recommend a long wire (two conductors) between the terminal block and the LED.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
