Hey everybody-
What do you think of screen goo? You know "Make any wall into a Screen"!
Have you ever used it? Just bought a Hi-Def Video projector just wondering if the screen goo is worth it or don't waste my money.

I think at least one regular here uses it (Larry?-fineelectric) but the times I've seen it used I was not impressed. I dont recommend it or use it in my jobs ever.

We used it in a commercial application with a pro Epson projector. The screen size was 16X9 and at least 200 inches diagonal ( fairly large image). It has been great. Even with an image that large, the brightness in average daytime ambient light conditions is really decent (granted the Epson projector has something to do with the result), but we A / B'd the picture before and after applying the Goo. the difference was un deniable. I don't know if I would go that route in a high end residential setting, probably no need to. But I can definitely attest to it's light reflecting ability.

Don't know what it is called here in Oz but i assume you are talking about paint on screen surface. I have used it once in a 7.1 enclosed outdoor theatre. A JVC D-ILA projected over a pool onto a wall on the other side that was painted with this stuff. I doubt that the image was as good as the stewart screens we normally use but i was pretty happy with the results nonetheless. The client was certainly happy.

I'd be ducking all the time!
Seriously, we ought to get together and check out each other's systems.
What part of town are you in?
