They can probably "say" anything they want. Using a TM name or logo in an ad is a big no no. Why would someone say they were a dealer for a line they were not unless they planned on having the product transshipped. Then the only one in trouble is the real dealer. Some lines matter like: Yamaha Integra Paradigm. Some don't like JVC Pioneer Russound. Especially if the product is in distribution. What line is it ADA?

Now that so many top tier brands are available from distribution, the line between the authorized dealer and the "I can get that for you" trunk slammer has been blurred.
What is the line in question??

Endemic in the Chicago market....
Hammer home the point with the client that something that sophisticated needs factory support to the dealer to be a good investment for the client. Invite the client to call the factory before spending the money.
Also, reps have been known....

Do you know he doesn't partner with a firm that is an authorized dealer of that product? While that doesn't make him an authorized dealer, it doesn't (by itself) make him a slammer either.

CI Funny that you say this. Back in the day when I was doing something like 150+ intercom systems per year, I had a display built into the rear of a Ford Econoline Van. Open the rear cargo doors and voila, there was a display of four different M&S intercom systems. Several room stations, door stations w/chimes, etc. All were powered up and operational. Made for a great sales tool. The people loved the fact that they could actually see and hear the system right at the jobsite. Had a friend that sold vinyl siding, replacement windows, etc, that used a motor home in much the same manner. D**n expensive trunk to slam.....lol

sounds to me like it would be reasonable to call them on it. A displaying dealer should be just that.
That's why you get better margins and better support than us trunk slammers. At least you should be getting better margins.
