It might not be cost effective, but you can usually do a 2 image split screen with a quad...

16 Channel DVR only way to go. amazing control via amx, see all or zoomin on one pick 4 out of the14 to display in quad, lots of possibilities. also look into multiplexors for survailance cameras RS232 control multiple window options

Speco MV9 has an option to allow two images side by side, real time, on a screen. Appropriate for security stuff.
But that's only if you want to split a picture.
