Tried searching the threads and couldn't find anything recent.

Haven't had to use one lately, sence I've been using primarily the MX-850.

Any suggestions???

Thanks

Audioplex STXTR40PKGPP is the one I carry in my truck for those occasional needs.

Bailed me out a couple of weeks ago with an RF happy preamplifier. If it had put out any more RF I would have had the owner apply for an FCC license.

The Niles MS-200 is pitched as plasma proof and I've used one of those as well.

I agree with SHOE - the Audioplex Stealth x4056. Make sure you order the 4056 or else the s.a. cable boxes and alot of RCA/Proscan stuff won't work. You need the 56k frequency capability. SHOE - have you experienced "minor" glitches with the 4056 controlling TIVO products (both DirecTV and standard TIVOs) ?

Also, all of Xantechs Plasma sensors work great - they are just larger then the Audioplex Stealth.

I'll second the Speakercraft fella. Seperate receiver electronics and sensor head the size of a bean.
A lifesaver!
Sticking to what I'm good at.

I have. I installed one about 18 months ago and it worked great for six months, except for occasional TiVo (T60, Sony, I think?) commands. Then it just completely broke down. I was using a Pronto TSU6000 so I just switched to RF.

Had the same experience with a second one, and quit using them.

The instructions with the 4056 were incorrect, at least per their technician, who told me to connect it in a way described in the instructions as WRONG. The tech said that the instructions did not go with the model I had received, which gives me a vote of NO CONFIDENCE right there! But maybe it quit because the tech did not know what he was talking about and it was working righ on the hairy edge of failure until it finally failed.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

How can you shut off the light? With tape? Or is there another method on the Niles?
...couple a thumb tacks and a stick of double sided tape should hold this baby up...

You just shoot the MS200 with the appropriate code, and no more light...
