I didn't do much with the older Sonance keypads, but I have one mounted in a box to use as a learner. I use it as a learner for RTI remotes because the software is from RTI and the database is compatible.
Is the K2 the model that can be used as a learner? I don't remember....
[edit] you've got mail, once I wrestle AOL to the ground and force it to send it out....

About the learning command ... it seemed a bit tricky? is there a way where u can just learn the commands you want ... ? it seemed as if the software runs through every command and only gives u a few seconds to find it on the source remote ... am i doing something stupid ? can someone expain it a bit?

I forgot that the K2 is a Navigator, so I forgot that it is a current model.
You don' have to learn all the commands; the software just lists what it thinks the remote can do so you don't have to do a bunch of typing if you don't want to. You can add buttons they didn't think of, you can delete buttons, and while learning, you can skip buttons. This helps you when you have to go back and relearn one command (see #1 below).
I find two irritating things about the learning process.
1.You can't try out the commands one at a time after you have learned them into the keypad. You can only try a command immediately after learning it. Once you move on to the next command, you can't go back and test. This has led to me moving ahead without testing when I find five or six learn perfectly....then wasted time later when I find I have to relearn one command and meld that into the database.
2.To test the IR command, you have to have an IR emitter connected to the keypad. When you send a command to be learned, that emitter sends the command out! This means that you have to have the IR connected, but put it in a place where it can't possibly shine on the keypad's sensor.
3.(Not two, as I said). The ideal learning distance for the keypad is something dumb like four to six feet. You are supposed to push a button on the keypad, then almost immediately send a command from a remote. They didn't think about that irritating back-and-forth walk to and from the keypad, or the fact that it takes time that eats into the learning time period.

The K2 was developed by RTI for Sonance (even tho they won't admit it). The software is nearly identical (although not interchangeable) and the touch panel is the same in the K2 and the T2+. Download RTI installers Mega code list, it will have everything you'll need. Andy

If you can get the codes for say Marantz wizzit software or something else that lets you view the hex code. You can copy from that software and paste into the sonance software. I do this myself. On a side note though, don't get me started on pasting in RC5 codes for controlling marantz because the sonance won't accept them. I figured out a workaround but what a process (whew!).
