We put in a fair amount of these and I would like to know what people are using. I have a job now where we need power-over-ethernet APs that will mount to the ceiling like smoke detectors. I know OnQ had something like this, but there must be others. Thanks.

Cisco 1131AG - from CDW or D&H.

We have gone to Cisco SOHO gear - 831 and 91 routers, 1131 AP and haven't looked back. Bulletproof. Period. No rebooting with power issues, no loss of DHCP etc...

You can find all these things on the Cisco site.

Does anyone know if either of these will support Mac's? an access point is an access point correct? I wont be doing the newtowrking, but I will be installing the network wiring for my dads house, and he has (2) mac laptops, with an airport wireless router.

I seem to remember conventional routers/wireless AP's being compatible with macs. am I correct?

Will the Cisco or On-Q pieces be compatible w macs? I wired the house w a cat5 run to the hall ceiling on each level of the house. He's fond of the idea of no visible hardware, but I dont want to mess with it if the Mac netowrking cant be done over the AP's.

TIA
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.
