Question NUMBER 1 about the lifestyle 28/35
Hello, I tried to program all code for the lifestyle 28-35 in a
pronto-philips remote control with the learning option by using the
center-unit to transfer the ir-code to the pronto. Every works really
perfect for the master zone or zone 1. But the problem is to make zone 2
working perfect. The most buttons for zone 2 are working fine but it is
impossible to shut off zone two.
When I program the on/off button with the zone2 remote, The pronto is
receiving the on/off code for zone 1.
So at this time I need a second rc-28 to shut down zone 2.
We wont to one extra step, by making a 3e zone with a modified sa-1 amplifier
and a splitter connected on zone one, this works really fine with a rc-28
remote, but is it possible to use a pronto for a 3e room?
(we know that you can only here the sound in zone 3,that is playing in zone3.)
We also know that you have to make zone 1 (NORMAL) and zone 2 (effect) in
the menu.
We asked Bose in the Netherlands but they didn?t have a answers because they
didn?t hat the time to test it.
So please give me a good tip because we really wont to know if its
possible.
Maybe the center unit most have a software update or something.
The lifestyle 28 or 35 we use is prepared for the Dutch market.
Thanks, Cees van Ekris, the Netherlands

Cees,
Thank you for your inquiry. The pronto won't work for zone 2, as we didn't
have it in mind to make zone 2 accessible without a 2nd remote. The reason
is that a pronto won't work through the walls like a zone 2 Bose remote
which is what you ideally would want for zone 2.

Question number two
First I would like to thank you for your email.
You wrote it isn't possible to do it, but why does the other buttons work
correct, and is the only problem
the on/off switch.
The idea is to use one pronto for different zones, it isn't that stupid
because when the kitchen and the sere-room
are direct connected without a door to the living room, it will be just
perfect. (keep in mind that it is also possible
to switch all different kind of products with this remote.)
I just really want to know if it can be fixed in the near future?
Is it possible for you to contact the designers of this product, with the
question or they can fix this?
Our customer has the same situation as I described above, and we promised
him a little bit that it will work.
But that's our problem now, otherwise we have to sell him 2 extra rc-28
remote's.
I think when it's possible to solve this problem it will be perfect to sell
this product to other costumers in future
(just like live style 50).
I hope you'll understand now why I am asking you this question.

Thanks for your help,
Cees van Ekris

Dear Cees,

Thank you for your reply. The only thing I can really offer is for you to
purchase the zone 2 remote for the system.

Thank you for choosing Bose Corporation.

Cees,
zone 2 no matter how many times you reprecate it,it will operate only in RF for zone activation. Sell him a Pronto with the rf kit and your problem will be solved.

A complete Bose program for the 28 and 35 is already posted in the file section of this web site.

Pretty good english too for a dutchman!
