Hey guys, any flat panels out there w/ ir jack? I noticed LG had them but I'n not a LG dealer. Anything else you guys can recommend, I'd like to ultimately use all the same manufacturer, as this is for a sports wall w/ a large plasma center being surrounded by multiple LCD's. This particular BOOKIE had this previously in his last house and the installer used flashers which did'nt hold up nor look good.

Thanks
Bob

As far as I'm aware, they're really only to control a VCR to record at certain times. The main exception would be Mitsubishi with their NetCommand system, which hasn't been as reliable either. I'm disappointed that plasma/RPTV manufacturers haven't made it a point yet to include an inexpensive IR repeater/input in upper end sets. (Or any for that matter!) When we install a flasher to control a Mitsu DLP, it's only worked being stuck on the bottom edge of the screen, so it always looks like a ladybug is sitting on the picture! Bad design.....

NuVision LCDs have IR jack and all discrete codes. Vidikron plasmas also have IR jacks and discrcete codes but might be priced out of range for a commercial job. They will be shipping similar LCDs any day now with the same features. I would assume the Runco plasma and LCDs also have the same features.

Good Luck!

Pioneer Elite has SR jacks on the media receiver for the 43 and 50. You can plug in through a xantech 790-10.

Hardly bad design... Just need to disassemble the TV a bit and install the bug inside...

Why not use displays with rs232? It would change your options for control, but if you don't do crestron or amx, you could use something like the RTI rp6 that can have ir plus 5 rs232 ports and you could use two if you needed to expand to more.
