Does anyone use the RS-232 to control volume on Denon receviers?
I love the reliablility of the Denon RS-232 for on/off and input and surround modes.... but the volume UP and DOWN seems VERY SLoW.
I use RTI RP6/T2+ combos generally.... and I end up with RS-232 connection AND a rear-IR jack in use (for volume only).
If the above solution is still the best way... let me ask another question: Do you find that the volume up and down (via IR) is too FAST using IR? I just can't win!

...couple a thumb tacks and a stick of double sided tape should hold this baby up... |

We have a 3806 at our showroom running the volume over 232. It seems to me to be too fast. It is almost impossible to go up just one .5 "click". It always seems to go up at least one full point. You can stop at the .5's, but only if you go up 1.5 or more. Our 3806 is slower via IR than 232. You may want to check your 232 settings.
