I own a panamax 2000, and have my entire AV system powered by this unit. I replaced my tv with a mitsubishi projection TV WS-65809. I have all my equipment power up with my adcom gtp 740 plugged into the current sense plug on the max 2000.I am having a problem programming the IR emitter output on the max 2000.(I can't get the max 2000 to learn the power command for the mitsubihi TV)This function worked with the old mitsubishi tv I had. When I turn on the adcom gtp 740 my entire system would turn on, and the max 2000 would send a ir command through the IR emitter to turn on the TV.I replaced the IR emitter with a zantech 282M mouse emitter on a recommendation by the engineer who designed the max 2000.This had no effect, I can only get my velodyne sub to work with either emitter that I have. Does anyone have any suggestions for programming the IR commands into a panamax 2000? Any help would be greatly appreciated...........Frustrated in Lincoln......

Check to see if your Mits TV has the "Power Restore" function. Some of them did, but I am not up on which ones have that now. This function turns on the TV after power has been removed and then restored. It probably was originally designed so the TVs would work with cable boxes.

If it does have Power Restore, plug the TV into a switched outlet of the Panamax 2000. The TV should then come on with the Panamax outlet.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

My mit does not have a power restore function...(I wish) I think the max 2000 has issues, I have talked with the engineer Jerry Hoops who designed this unit, and he said he had compatibility problems with diff manufacturers Ir commands."He said that manufacturers would modulate their IR signals at diff frequencies " I used this same equipment for 3 years with no problems, but I only had the one command programmed into the 2000 "the power command for my old Mit projection TV" Now that I have upgraded to a new projection TV I am seeing problems. I tried to program commands from a panasonic vcr, adcom preamp, echostar dss receiver, Mit projection TV, and a velodyne sub.I could only get the velodyne sub commands to program into the max 2000. I paid $900.00 for the max 3 years ago now panamax is no longer manufacturing this unit and they don't have a comparable unit, although they are selling refurbished units...And I have seen the 2000 going for as little as $250.00 brand new at other sites.I thought that more installers would have had good or bad experiences with this unit...Thax for your response......Any other help would be greatly appreciated..............George
