I just got the IntelliFileII Programmer and Software. I have an existing Programmed Intellicontrol Unit. I wanted to correct aprogram with the g Function Key from the DSS Master Key.
I downloaded the existing configuration from the unit to the P.C. I noticed that the master keys are labled key_1, key_2, etc. OK. So I figured that key_4 was the dss master key. Upon checking the function keys IR for that master key, all the functions keys have Command, Key listed in their boxes. Are their text files missing??? Are the keys really programmed???
Thanx in advance.

Yes when you download or upload in this case a program from the MSU you lose the names of the buttons. When I run into the scenario that you mentioned I upload the program, fortunately you have a working system with to start with, After uploading the program, rename the master keys inside the uploadd program. You will need the Intellicontrol remote for this as each Master Key should have a transparent label. ie Master Key 1 - CD etc. You can highlight the name by a left moluse click then rename. By starting this it will allow much easier future updates as it seems you ve taken ownership of this intellicontrol. Continue the same for the other function buttons. Use your tool box for the needed codes. Good luck

Hi George.
Yes, they are programmed. The software generically labels anything uploaded from the MSU. The program does not send text information back and forth to the MSU. The text is only used by the programming software to "organize" the file.
Hope that helps,
JJP

OK...WOW... Fast response. I appreciate the information. So, even thou the function keys read Command, Key - they are programmed. The codes are their, but lost their label.
Thanx!!!
