I've used X10 but not real crazy about it.
The room in question is a theater room complete with bar and card table. 4 switches, 2 on a seperate wall.
I'd like to have up to the 5 scenes allowed, complete with floor plan on the pronto.
After visiting Lutron's site it appears as though there may be an issue with the 2 different scene controllers in one room.
Just like to get a little input on the reliability of this product, (ins outs) and whether or not it's the right system for the application.
Although the client is a pro ball player (new to the major leagues) budget is still an issue.
Many thanks,
CMack

Radio RA switches with repeater and an RA-IR module would be the way to go.

Although a bit pricey, it's probably the best way to go, easiest to install and set up, and reliable.

I haven't had applications where I have compared the price of Radio RA to the Grafik Eye, but the Grafik Eye is completely reliable.

Its one drawback for retrofit is that it requires a really deep electrical box. Chances are that, even if the existing electrical box is the correct width, you will not be able to retrofit it without ripping the wall apart to get at the flex and conduit connectors so you can replace the electrical box.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Sounds like a job for Larry!

I have an entire showroom fitted with Ra and it works flawlessly.

It is a little pricey, though.

My theater room uses a Grafik Eye which is interfaced with the Ra system. The whole thing is interfaced with the AMX Landmark system.

Are the wall switches on opposite walls, or are they both in site from the main seating position? If they are both anywhere near close enough to see without straining your neck, the Lutron Spacer system is relatively cheap and couldn't be easier to install and program. The IR from the Pronto is very powerful and can hit all switches with one button press "most" of the time. You could use an IR repeater/extender of some kind wired to each if they are not easily in view of the remote's IR signal. If they are in site, it is very reliable. You might discuss this option with your client if cost is a real factor. Otherwise the RA system is exceptional.

One note on the Spacer: I was able to operate two lamp dimmers (external spacer devices) that were located on opposite walls almost without fault with a Marantz RC5000i. The walls and ceiling were white, so the IR bounced around well enough that it really did not matter where I pointed the remote.

The switches could not be in any worse location other rhan under the seating. The switches are located at the entry which is opposite the screen. So...... still have some research to find out if the extender will help, similiar to the ir for x10 but sending the code via radio freq. . Seems I remember RA offering that option.
Found a local dist. today for all lutron products.
I want to include a floor plan on the pronto 2000 ( I know I know ) for this room. Started on one and not very impressed with what I've got here. Anyone have a floor plan that is functional. I need a model. I'd like to be able to select the lights on an individual switch by sselecting an area of the floor plan. I.E. game table, bar, entry. etc. and of course scenes relevant to occasion etc.
I've searched with no luck.
Thanks,
CMack

Received pricing to day from a distributor. The radio ra seems a little pricey. Will someone email me and let me know what i should be paying for a standard wall dimmer for incandescent lighting. Approx. will be appreciated. I.E. ( RA-6001-xx )
Thanks,

RA-600L $240 or RA-600LM $280 and RA-AD $80 if you intend on running a three way circuit. You will also need a RA-REP $400 to set the system up and a RA-IR interface $600 for infrared control. If you intend on having a few more switch locations, Lutron has a few entry level packages, that incude some of these items at a lower oveall price.
