I asked a guy here in charlotte at a particular store this question and i am getting mixed answers after asking more and more people.....Does an A/V Receiver with component switching pass HD (1080i) through component out directly to the DTV (mitsubishi) Tv? Will one of you PROS answer this please....salesman only tell you what you want to hear.
It depends on which receiver you have. Some of the newer models will pass the HDTV signal. But why would you want to do that. Go right into your TV or projector with the component out of your sat or cable box HD.
Really depends on the receiver but most should pass the HD signal. What type are you looking at specifically? The thing to ask is whether the component inputs on the receiver are "high-bandwidth" inputs which can handle the HD signal. The manual or spec sheet usually lists this.
We have actually tried the Marantz SR8200 and SR 9200 and they work. Be carefull with hobbyist hearsay. This will be a decent sized financial outlay and you night be better served going to dealer where you can get support instead of what someone read or heard. Spec sheets can be misleading also Good Luck with your purchase
It's not heresay Sparky. I am a proud owner of a 5803 and it works as stated. Just because you are unable to acquire an account with Denon and acting like a jackass in another thread does not mean I don't know what I am talking about.
Unless I missed it the whole point of his thread,he already went to a dealer and got conflicting answers which is typical.
