Tried my best to be nice and civil, Shoe, but some people are just pests. I would include you among them.

I am more professional in answering the phone than you have been here, and I suspect in your business as well.

I think the thing that bugs you is that I know enough to do it myself. I also know that if I choose I could start a custom install business and be doing more business than you in a very short time.

Those are just the facts.

PS - when I buy wholesale I give them my tax ID and the name of my business. If they ask I tell them what kind of business it is, but they never ask. Just goes to show that 'your' club isn't so exclusive. Anyone with a tax ID can join.

Shoe:

I seemed to remember some other really intelligent posts from you, which is why I am now dumbfounded by your tunnel vision with regard to Carl. I think you have now had three different people explain what the word prosumer means and even provide links to definitions. Let me make sure I understand this. If a person uses a word that isn’t covered by your vocabulary (trust me, I’m not trying to confuse or mislead you by using a big word like vocabulary), you feel that the person is trying to mislead you?

If he wanted to mislead, why the hell didn’t he just say he was a fellow professional looking for a few new distributors. And one more time, if you thought (as you claim) that he was representing himself as a “professional”, why the hell did you start this thread.

I have now made the same point more than once, but unfortunately it seems necessary.
I am a working custom installation professional.
I will help friendly competitors by sharing vendor
resources but not customers. As they say "It's
just business." Just because you can walk into
the pros playground doesn't mean you are entitled
to anything. That is up to the people who answer
your thread. I started this one to get some feedback
and it wasn't amateurs I was looking to get answer's
from. Everyone thinks they can be objective but
in reality, wherever we come from and who we are
prejudices our viewpoint which is why I asked
it in the pro's forum.

Do you have any idea how arrogant and unprofessional your comments above are and how they reflect on us as a member of our profession? Or how unprofessional it is to continue to accuse a person of deceipt that could not have been more clear and concise in his statements? Do you think repeatedly referring to yourself as a “professional” and others as “amateurs” and suggesting that their (the “amateurs”) input is not welcome here is professional? And you are concerned about Carl harming our business?

Sorry, I'll have to disagree. As far as I can tell there are very few customers on this site. It is customers(real) and professionals I treat in a professional manner. Carl, still no reason to change my mind. The thread is not aimed at you, but you seem to paint yourself the victim. If I think you're "inaccurate" so what? Take inaccurate or disengenuous personally if you like but if I have to live with you here I guess you'll have to live with me. If the supply house doesn't see you as the wannabee you are that doesn't make you a professional. What is a professional manner? On TV, you have professional wrestlers who have somehow become professional athletes though the contest is scripted and the competition is false. I think you'll find professional defined in the Meriam Webster dictionary as Main Entry: 1pro·fes·sion·al
Pronunciation: pr&-'fesh-n&l, -'fe-sh&-n&l
Function: adjective
Date: circa 1748
1 a : of, relating to, or characteristic of a profession b : engaged in one of the learned professions c (1) : characterized by or conforming to the technical or ethical standards of a profession (2) : exhibiting a courteous, conscientious, and generally businesslike manner in the workplace
2 a : participating for gain or livelihood in an activity or field of endeavor often engaged in by amateurs b : having a particular profession as a permanent career c : engaged in by persons receiving financial return
You see, there are amateurs and professionals. I don't believe this is the workplace QQQ. I am simply someone who has taken his hobby, gone through a career change, much training and study and treats paying customers and even you in a civil manner though not necessarally pleasant. I'm arrogant at times though rarely presumptuous. QQQ, it is noble of you to defend CarlSr but disagreeing is not being arrogant. If you wish to enter into discourse I will just say that 1- Some internet dictionary is not the final word. I try to use established references. 2-My vocabulary has softened a bit since I received my degree in English lit a few more years ago than I care to admit and 3- If you don't like it lump it
I started a thread aimed at professionals and if you have a problem with that see the above. This has become pretty comical. It is quite entertaining pushing your buttons. Let's see how far we can take this. LOL

I don't think so. I was posting and a database error popped up. The fact that the post number on the thread keeps going up and the first page loads suggests an error of some type.
