Omnimount for price, Chief Manufacturing for engineering. You never did mention the required extension for the articulating arm.

Example: An Omnimount bracket with 26.5" of reach needs 6.8" of space behind the panel, the Chief Manufacturing bracket with a 37" reach only needs 3" of space behind the panel.

The Chief PDR and PNR brackets are both good for 200 lbs. I've never been worried about hanging anything off a Chief bracket.

Interesting... Used about 20 of those cantilever brackets in '04 / '05. Always questioned thier integrity. Even spoke with engineers at Omnimount. Now, they are failing. We've opted to replace all at our own expense, though requesting $ from OM. They told me in July 06 "haven't had any trouble with our mounts, yours is an isolated case..."

Chief is the only way to be sure. Sanus is a good alternate.

I don't think I could ever use Cheif again. I ordered the PWR-U for a 50" Samsung. The plate the attaches to the bracket on the TV, would not stay level for the life of me. I finally remove the Plasma and tried to level the plate, and still it would not stay level. I tried loosing and tighting the bolts to no avail.

Granted this was my first Cheif mount used, it drove me crazy.

Peerless doesn't look pretty but it gets the job done.

I wanted the Cheif to work since the space behind the plasma is less 3" for the Cheif as to about 6" for the Peerless.

But when it comes down to it, Peerless gets the job done.

bracket.

I have been a Chief fan of the articulating mounts for a long time. However, I would seriously consider NOT hanging a Fujitsu 63" on the PDR or PNR bracket. Using the PSB 2024 adapter plate, the TV when the top is all the way pushed in and the allen screws tightened, always tilts forward at least an inch.

The TV is 177lbs, and very very shaky on this mount. However, Chief tech support insists that everything is a-ok. The back plate that the PSB bracket hangs on has a slight bend around the upper bolt due to all the weight. We're due for another So. Cal earthquake, hopefully it won't break off.

I still think under 150lbs is the magic number for these mounts.

Is anybody using the Omni UCL-l or UCL-X? They are the beefier versions of the Plasma CL and they seem to work pretty well. Regarding the Plasma CL defect situation, I think it's pretty lame of Omni to expect us to perform the upgrades at no charge because they weren't properly supervising their productiion facilities in China. For God's sakes, they produced them out of spec for almost a year before someone caught it. If you push the issue with them, they will send Installs Inc to perform the upgrade at no cost to the customer. On another note, what is everybody doing for the really big plasmas like the Panasonic 65".?

Too bad Sanus sounds like....

Recently we mounted a 60 inch with one of the big double - arm articulating Omni... Just the bracket itself must have weighed 75 pounds... Ended up mounting a lot of cut 2X6s to the wall with numerous lag bolts, then hung the bracket.

When attempting to tighten the crap out of some of the adjustments, some of the bolt heads and hex's started getting stripped, the fun began!

This was over a fireplace whith a recessed opening, and man it was a bitch to do.
Looked great, but the little wife - unit wanted it " a smidge lower"...

Had to go back and move it down a couple inches as per Mrs. Homeowner, which meant 3 to 4 hours... and lots of cursing under our breath!!!

I agree with an earlier comment that articulating brackets (In my humble opinion) should be discouraged unless they are absolutley needed. Also will cut out a cardboard life-sized template of the Plasma and hold up on the wall and have customer give us the OK and make some pencil marks on the wall, that we both agree on before ever having to go through that B.S. again!!!!!

Not my idea of a fun time, especially scraping the sh*t out of our knuckles due to the limited opening... At least it looks cool, but man oh man what a hassle!

The Omni seemed to be O.K. however I have been happier working with the Chief brackets.

Omni for everything except the application you are reffering to. I only use the Cheif PDR series.

Also, the above distributor does not carry Chief.

If you are in SO. Cal I can direct you somewhere via email. Also, I was direct before and it wasnt hard. Small opening order.
