cannot learn IR codes from this dig cable remote to a TSU2000. About 20% of the channels go in but others don't. I will lose this sale if I can't get it to work. I already showed them how cool it was to touch an icon of the station and have it go to that channel. I've got their favorites list and everything...please help. To sum up...I try to learn a digit from motorola remote and pronto says it learned it but when button pushed on pronto...nothing. It did learn the "up" and "down" buttons. Cannot even get a number pad to work (exccept 2 and 8)

Thank You all in advance

Just keep trying to learn the codes different ways...ie: push and hold the button, push it for only a second, learn in a dark room, place your hand over the senors to make it darker...etc... If you've got some of them to work then you should be able to get them all. Definitely reload the remote like AVGURU said.

thanks for the replies. I have the most current ver. I did find some motorola codes, but cannot find out what box these clients have. There are NO numbers on this #@!$ box. Trial and error sucks! push and hold, dark room etc. Thanks for the quick replies. I sure look stupid not being able to make a few codes/buttons work.
Any other ideas out there?

Thanks again folks.

This may sound simplistic but make sure that you fresh batteries. Try varying the distance between the remotes by up to five feet.

Shoe is right! forgot to say that. another thing you may want to try is when you are learning the codes press the "sending remote key twice"
Ive had to do this with various rca/proscan products.
ps i dont want to sound lame but are there any flouresent lights in the area?

Or bright sunlight. Sunlight can cause IR interference too.

Yeah, don't feel bad, I'm sure everyone here has had their fights with remotes....I've been pretty close to throwing a few myself. :)

Ok all,

thanks for your help on this. All good points to remember. I finally DID get the remote to work...used codes from "files" section and did the cut and paste routine. I think I saved face with the clients too, aftyer deciding to describe the problem I was having and the eventual cure they drew a blank stare...sort of "wow this guy must know his stuff because I don't have a clue what he just described" look on their face.

Thanks again.

I just love that look.

Especially when its for solving a problem I stupidly created in the first place.
