We've been using the Liberty cable system for a while now with good results. You buy spools of RG-59 in various colors, pull the wire through the cabinet to where it's needed, cut to lenghth, crimp on color coded connectors of whatever type is needed, and you're done. No solder dripping on the customer's 17th century Persian rug, no bad solders done by installers with shaky hands from last night's blowout party, nice & clean. Not expensive, either.

ONE WORD (SYNERGY) I have used this cable for 5 years and it is quick and easy to use for short runs, its not cheap. For long runs Liberty wire is good. If these are out of your price range go where all of us go in a pinch RADIO SHACK! good luck

we have been buying cable as we go, on a job by job basis but i am running into to cases where i need 30' feet of rgb cable or 25' feet of rca , also i want our installs to stand apart from a do it yourself look and when someone shows there system to a friend i want them to be proud of whats behind the "curtain"
not just how it sounds and looks in the front, thanks for the info i talked to a guy a liberty today and they are going to send me some stuff, i feel i am headed in the right direction

I build all my own electrical cables (can't make my own optical cables yet). I use either Canare or Mogami cable, and always use solder terminations for my audio cabling, and crimp for my video and F connectors. I'm an excellent solderer. I don't heat shrink the ends though. I use RCA's with spring strain reliefs. Get all of my cable and connectors through BTX or sometimes Parts Express. I just finished a new custom RGB cable from my projector to my DVD player. Custom cabling is very easy, take your time though, make sure you do it right. The Canare true 75 ohm RCA's and F connectors are the best for video and coax digital. Expensive, but well worth it. Welcome to the custom cabling world...you'll be surprised at how proud of yourself you can be when you finish a big custom cabling job.

Signature Wire in Denver has a new cable called Serial Digital. Available in RG-6 or RG-59. Available in R,G,B,Y,W,Dark Grey, and I'm sure some others. It's built to compete with Synergy (which I've used and love) at a FRACTION of the cost. It's not quite as flexible, but it's good stuff. Uses several different levels of linear crimp connects and the cable pro lccm linear compression tool. Ends up with VERY cool look!

Liberty is a great system (as stated before), still looking for a more flexible RG6 to use for our custom RCA's though. Any ideas?

Where do any of you get your shrink wrap for these?

Why ask why?? Cause we can!! (Coors Light Commercial)

Jvan - Try the serial digital from Signature. VERY flexible in both 59 and 6, about the only thing out there more flexible is the Synergy...pricy though.

RG-6 is good for the exceptionally long runs, or if you want to make a giant, cool looking bouqet o' de~ wires behind a rack.

I have the 700 Twin from Polaris. Don't need it, but OH Had Ta Have it. Definitely overkill!!! Love it!

Hell yeah for the 700 twin's. I went with the Grizzly 660 instead though. Glad I did too.

I use Serial Digital RG59. How long of a run do you have to have before you need RG6?

Yep, I love the twin, but I shoulda bought the 660 as well. Turns out the polaris are VERY expensive to fix and maintain in comparison with the others.

I typically let the signal type decide for me what distance to run the 59 out to. I would say that the general rule of 100+ feet would be about right for the RG-6 (for video). Audio can run ALOT longer than that on the 59, and it's much more flexible!
