Had a call from a customer saying that the cursor keys on her Marantz RC5400 had stopped operating her Foxtel, and that she though she was doing something wrong.
So I travel the half hour to her place, without a spare unit (we dont stock the Marantz' anymore) to find that, out of the blue, her up&down buttons now do page jumps within the selected device, and her left&right buttons now jump to previous & next device!

Convinced that the husband has 'played around' with the software, I reload the customers original config file, only to find that the unit still exhibits the same fault??? Re-load Firmware.... Still same fault...Dump a completely different file in... Same fault...Reload software...Same fault???

Anyone else experienced a similar fault, and if so how did you fix it?

The problem is a simple one but easy to overlook and easy for the customer to activate after you leave. Within the setup menu is an option for "cursor navigation". This option needs to be turned off.

I beleive there is a cursor on the bottom left hand side of the screen that looks a an arrow going up and down left and right. If you press the icon it should reverse the problem you are having.I beleive it is the toggle icon. Also if you go to the system page you should be able to delete it from the customer screens.

That one got me first time too BCM...Just in case...I always turn off the Mode menu too so it is not as easy for the client to play havoc.

Re your post suggesting a chat to Shaun from crestron in another thread...He already knows.

Cheers
Simon.

HAd that happen once. but it seems that when you firmware update the default is for it off. SO I updated the firmware and problem solved. Good to know that its hidden in the setup too.
