Are there hard wire options I should be reviewing. Are there any button pushing, hand held options besides the RTI T2? I am putting the 10 or so components in a cabinet. Thank you for any reply.

Your question could use a bit more detail to it. What exactly is your situation, and the corresponding question? You're putting 10 components in a cabinet...and building a new room. Are you looking for an alternative to the RTI? Will this cabinet have a solid door on the front? Will it even be in the same room? Clarify it a bit more and answers should flood in.

Whoops, blank post! Thanks for your reply. The quick answer is yes I am looking for an alternative to the RTI. I am wondering if there is a cheaper, simpler, more reliable solution. The facts: components in same room, single room setup, solid door on cabinet as part of shelf system. I have read a little more since the original post and now see the possibility of a xantech IR extender package. The IR receiver (?) might sit unobserved on a upper bookshelf. RTI T2 are supposed to be good but I have read they may also have quality control problems. Any advice from someone who has been here is very appreciated. Thanks.

Stuart,
I have and continue to use RTI's with little prob's, RTI makes a high gain antenna if you are having range issues(do not try until ALL else fails, as higher gain means, in this case, more interference) however, you can "daisy-chain" antennas using bnc "T" connenctors, try putting the antennas under the floor or in the attic above/below the seating area(and in different rooms for added control) I have tried this and it works great. As far as Quality control issues, I wont lie, there have been some problems but that seems to be in the past now, not RTI's fault the OEM company for the screen and the buttons screwed up. RTI makes a good product and if hard buttons are a must and RF is mandatory, then this is the way to go, if not then think pronto/ pronto pro. Just remember you get what you pay for.
