I have a ctx ezpro 610 projector and I am getting really agravated by what you might call interference. Basically while I am watching a movie or whatnot I am getting a constant rolling bar sequence through the picture. Its not a heavy black bar or anything but rather like a scrolling darker contrast bar running from top to bottom. Im using a fairly high quality shielded s-video cable so im thinking it might be originating from the power source. I am simply connected from the wall directly to the projector.

Any ideas on how to correct would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like a ground loop problem, and nothing to do wiht the quality of the shielding on your interconnect cable. The first thing we always try is disconnecting the incoming CATV line to see if it goes away; this works about 75% of the time. After that, it becomes a trial & error process of disconnecting everything, making sure the hum bar is gone, and then reconnecting components one by one until the bar comes back.

Get an ISOMAX 75ohm GROUND LOOP ISOLATER
I have had the same problem with various projectors and this should work!

thanks for the product recommendation, but im cheap and just installed an A/B switch that allows me to "turn off" the catv while i utilize the projector for movies - talk about your low cost solutions - $7 for the low profile model at Radio Shack!

Why not spend that 7 bucks on a ground loop isolator? Considering most cable boxes lose their programming if disconnected from the cable line for too long.

well the cheapest ground loop isolator i found was $50 and well you caught me being cheap again, i have the lowest rung of cable service and do not need the cable box to receive channels.

take two 75 to 300 ohm transformers and connect the wired ends together, hook up your cable to that. Cost about 1.75

Well, for some reason I don't suffer this problem with my cable system. Don't have much experience with the problem either, I just know switching my cable system on and off would get to be a pain in the ass real quick. Just looking for a simpler solution. Parts Express has a ground loop isolator for $12.80. Part # 180-075 if you're interested.
