Have a simple problem with 2 Pioneer players. One is the DV-F727 300disc and the other a single play DV-363. They both respond to the IR commands of either factory remote!
I was surprised, as the mega changer is an older design, and would've thought the IR codes would be different. The easy solution would be replace the DV-363 with another brand, but customer would prefer to keep it, if possible. I couldn't find any settings listed that might change the codes on the 727, similar to the command mode on the Sony changers. Using a 7000 for control.
I could use a RF receiver for one, and leave the other IR, but would rather not, as there's a lot of stray RF in the immediate area, not sure how reliable it would be.

Second, whenever I add a second slave 727 for 600 disc capacity, the second changer looses connection with the master if I use any control cable longer than the stock 1 meter one it comes with. Tried a variety of different brand 2 meter cables. Some work for a few days, then fail after initial power up, or a minute or two. Tried adding an extra ground wire between them, no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Dan

Keep the two units set up as individual units and utilize IR routing.

MX850/MRF250? Or a nice MX-3000?

I've actually used 3 DVF-727's in a system (one for DVD and two for CD's as the client liked the on screen menu) in this manner.
