I want to understand more about what a Video Processor/Scaler does and when you purchase/recommend one to a client. I am putting together a home theater proposal and I'm new at this so I want to make sure I don't short change the client.

I see from equipment list from many of the custom installers in CEpro that they very often include one in their setup. My client is probably going to go with a Runco CL-410 or a Optima HD-79 or a BenQ PE-7700.

Do I need to recommend one to my client? What do I tell him when he ask "Why do I need it?"

Thx
