One of my customers has a Bose Lifestyle 35 system (with RF remote) and other components that use IR remote controls. Can anyone recommend a remote control that combines both technologies? One that's easy to program and that works reliably - or is that an oxymoron? Help!

The Bose LS35 can be set for IR operation and you can use most learning remotes. Do not trust the codes built into the unit. Get the codes from this site or from your rep. BTW, Bose has changed the IR codes in mid production so make sure you get both sets.

I think he is asking for a remote that can LEARN RF and IR. No such remote exists.

Q: I agree, but the 35 can be switched to use IR. I am not sure if the original Bose remote can do both, that is why I told him to go with a Pronto since there are CCFs with the codes. On the other hand if he goes with a Pronto Pro or a Marantz 5200/9200 he can have his RF as well

Hi Shoe:

You mentioned that I can "get the codes from this site" but you didn't list the URL. Can you please give me the URL of the site where I can get the codes. Thanks.

Ishwar, you can find the Bose LS 28/35 codes in the files section under component configs for Pront and Marantz. I would recomend that you explore the files section if you haven't done so already. There is a lot of info there
