Yep! For the X500 series product I ran a fast loop of 40 commands for 2 days on the bench. Not one problem.

Mike,

I assume you were referring to my message above.

Marantz is a featured brand within the "Magnolia
Home Theater" stores now being built inside select
Best Buys.

A*** has nothing to do with this arrangement.

Yes Yes Yes. Magnolia and Cambridge Soundworks will or already do carry Marantz. But . . . They are held to the same price point limitations that I am, so I don't have to worry about them trying to advertise new 8500's for $299. The web is another animal altogether as we know. Most of the scheisters that kill our margin are selling B-stock or refurbs. The ones who try to sneak under the price point with new gear will hopefully get busted by Marantz and my AVAD rep.

"Hi Bill,

Ben Grass, Sales Manager @ AVAD NoCA here.

Thanks for alerting us to this rogue, profit eroding web site. ([Link: envisiononline.net]) AVAD and Marantz take these matters seriously.

I have forwarded the ‘envision’ link to Marantz and they will take action via their Net Enforcers (web contractors) arm to ensure integrity of the line."

We'll see if this ever happens. Bill

Were we the only ones to have ALL of the Marantz receivers we sold over a two to three year period lose their backup battery/cap (don't know which) and lose digital input assignments after about a year in the field? I can't count how many service calls that was...

(does seem to be fixed now, but still leaves a bad taste in the mouth...)

Yes, we have had the "lost digital input assignment" problem, and it was attributed to a firmware problem. We've had our share of service calls on that problem. Overall Marantz has been great.

I have had the Marantz line for about 10 years and has been mostly a great experiance, with the exception of the vc5000/vc5200s.(and the abortion that philllips and marantz had called the dvx8000) Most hte other products have been great to us.

Rarely do we have problems and when we do i'd say 90% of them are DVD players. the only other thing that i hate is most the new cd units do not have a Disc + command, and requires sending the unit back in for a rom update. To my knowledge this is still an issue on some of cd players. Still great products!
