On our local Comcast system it is. I think it can be configured on or off by comcast. I know for a long time DVI was disabled. Sometimes we find Comcast installers connecting HD sets thru the rf (what a waste). Then the customer calls us to complain about picture quality or worse watches it this way forever thinking they are watching HD. We have been holding trainings for newbie Comcast techs to teach them better. Fortunately they are getting way better. Hope this helps
