This just went out. If you haven't seen Home Electronic Ideas, it's a very slick coffee-table mag that sells for $10 on newsstands. -julie
Believe it or not we are at it again, looking for whole house installations to include in our winter issue of Home Electronic Ideas, a sister publication to Electronic House and CEPro.
We are looking for we are looking for a variety of PROFESSIONALLY photographed rooms that contain electronic systems like home control, networking, lighting, whole-house entertainment, Home theater, and security. The goal is to show all these systems in a variety room settings, like kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, family rooms, kids rooms, foyers, rec rooms, media rooms, home theaters, and any other room you can think of. Many of you have submitted photos to us in the past. We hope you have been enjoying our coverage of your projects and hope you have some new projects to share with us and our readers!
If you have photos that you think would be a good fit please put them on a CD and send to me at the address below, OR if you would like to e-mail some low res. photos before submitting them on CD, that is welcomed as well. Hi-res. photos should be 300 dpi and 8" x 10" or bigger. Please also include an equipment list for each room so we can determine where it should go in the magazine.
All published photos will be credited to the installer and your photographer as listed. The deadline to submit photos for Home Electronic Ideas is Wednesday, September 14th. All submitted photos will be considered for the cover! Submitted photos may also be considered for use on our web site and will also be credited. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone. I look forward to hearing from you.

Well I have been featured twice In Elecctronic House in the last year, so I don't want to hog all the spot light. But I have a job just finishing that will be stunning (wall murals, red velvet motorized curtains, 14' high ceiling; 7.2 Triad Silver & Gold, DWIN TV3+E; B&K Ref 50, B&K 200.7, MX3000; 2 rows of Salamander Mateo seats, NAD DVD player w hdmi out, + many more goodies).
But really the press is nice but in my market doesn't garner me any more business. Not to be cynical. It's just like when I get written up in the local business journal. All I get for seveal weeks after the article hits the streets, is people calling me trying to sell ME something. Sheesh!

It won't necessarily boost your business, but I've had dealers show their published projects to customers, and it does do something for credibility. sometimes customers get a kick out of seeing their home in a fancy mag. I've seen real estate ads that say, "As featured in Electronic House magazine."

I've got a small dedicated theater that is just about to finalize in maybe 2 weeks. And the clients would love to have it shown off.....
Sony Qualia 006 BG Z7 Fronts BG Z5 Center BG PD6 Rears BG Z1 Sub Newcastle P965 Newcastle A965 Pioneer PDF-1009 Sony DVP-CX777ES DTV HD10-250 Panamax M4300 HTM MX-3000 Lutron Grafik Eye Makita Motorized Draperies
Theater Seating - Client Supplied (Client in the furniture biz).
Next whole house (Surround, Distributed Audio, Security) system won't be ready to final until sometime in October?
Other than those two, I've always got a low bucks system (Abus, Family Room Surround, Security, data, etc) finishing about every two weeks or so.....
Planning on having a professional photographer (client) burn some DVD images for me on these two jobs, and one job that was done several years back, that has recently had a little updating done to it.
