I am creating a bid for a boardroom installation with a 61" plasma and a projector. I need to be able to have 2 computers running either display source. Can any one out there tell me where I can find a two in two out VGA switcher with IR (or wired ir) controll?

Well, specifically two in two out is kinda small...you may have to go with something larger and brag up expandability.

1) Extron.com
2) Altinex.com
3) KramerElectronics.com

Probably in that order.

Dude,
I just did the same thing and used an product by InLine (. It was the only one I could find with IR capability). I went ahead and got the RC so I have codes if you need them.

That would be the perfect solution except that it only has one VGA output. Can I get a VGA splitter/booster? or do they not exist.

VST,
I haven't looked but am pretty sure you can get a matrix router from InLine. In my case I had to carry audio as well, that and IR seemed to be the kicker.
Wait, here' one with both.

Hope this helps.

Ooh! Deja vu!

Not to be confused with "vuja de", which is the feeling that this has never happened before.

Larry, I guess there's always more than one way saying something, and more than one form of saying it. vj-dj

2 sources and 2 destinations

Do the 2 destinations have to be able to display different images? Like this...

PC 1 to Projector
PC 1 to Plasma
PC 2 to Projector
PC 2 to Plasma

Will you have to be able to route your signals like that? Or will both the projector and plasma always be displaying the same picture?

If they will, then all you need is an A/B type of switch. Simple 2 input, 1 output switcher then a VGA splitter, or a 2 input, dual output switcher.

If the projector and plasma will need to switch between seperate sources independently, you'll need a matrix switcher.

You probably already knew that, I'm just trying to clear things up so everybody's on the same page and is all looking for or trying to think of the same solution.
