VIncent, AAHh UMMMDOOOOD, da PZ6 DOes it for you.

Flandon, I don't like to bring up some of my past job/elan equipment problems because sometimes it feels lilke Elan is pulling out my pubic hairs one by one.
However, I feel the pain you are experiencing. One of my jobs, that pain was days long. Getting to the bottom of it, some of the first batch of PZ6 wall plates had a bad Circuit boards that affected the RS485 communication between the Z630s and Keypads.
I know, I peeled the POS apart and traced it. IT was not a good day taking a PZ6 out of the wall, causing the entire system to go down and getting another in on my dime for a manufacturing problem.
Here is what you may do to see if this is the case: Make up two sacrificial cables that go from each Z630 to the PZ6. Now cut into these cables and expose the RS485 + an - comm lines and jump them over to each other, by solder tacking or Dolphin connectors on a couple of pieces of 24ga.
PLug back in and test.
TO ELAN: (even though I don't think they give a rats ass) Build a PZ6 and PZ12 with Cat5 jacks on the back instead of S110 so we can test our cables (RJ45-to-RJ45) end to end with Fluke, Test-Um, LED and batteries. Thanks!
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

have you set the DIPS on the front of each Z630
to assign chassis 1 and chassis 2?

The White/Blue wire from the zone 1 keypad should
connect to the blue wire of the first Z630.
The White/Blue wire from the zone 4 keypad should
connect to the Blue wire of the second Z630.

Also check to make sure that all brown wires are
connected between chassis.

That was it.
The POS qued up fine after that. Programing with Viatool was Archaic. When i e it to my guy the thing whiped all the ir i crosslinked.

Just curious, did this cabin happen to be in the deer valley/solomere area of Park City? We had a customer from Santa Barbara come to us with the same situation of buying all his equipment through his "distributor connection" and having us install it. We ended up doing his phone, network and security system but he had a guy from back home that would do his elan install for less. BTW no hard feelings, we're slammed as it is.

Yes- but i guarante that we not any less expensive(drive time, 2 flights for walkthrough's). all i know is he is in Park City. We might have Called in your mx850 programer to do the 2 850'S and clean up my mx3000 programing(Hard when your not right in front of the equipment.)

All working fine except the JVC projector Was Broken. the Vutec Screen worked, The ScreenArt worked great the clearance from the print to the surface of the plasma was 1/16". I dont know if i will spec that for a LCD.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Dave
