I recently purchased a new Toshiba widescreen HDTV for my theater room... I have two 13" Apex TVs mounted beside it for monitoring security cameras or watching other games, etc. Turns out that both the Apex TVs and the Toshiba are using the same IR codes.. Neither has a way to alter the IR code set used... Is there a product on the market to map a different IR code for one of the sets? I also have this problem with two different models of sony receivers mounted in the same cabinet.. one is for the theater and one for the game room but both respond to the same IR signals!! does houselink or other home controllers proved any of this functionality.. I have X10 lighting control and am thinking of upgrading to a dedicated controller also for scene lighting, etc..

Thanks!!!

One solution would be using Xantech's IR8 Router. It basically sends specific IR commands to individual components or ALL components as a group.

You would also need their RC68+ remote to use for programming another learning universal remote.

A bit of programming and you could control your devices independently.

Look at it at http://www.xantech.com

I had a customer with 3 Mitsu tv's in the same rack. The cheap solution was to put a 1/2"piece of heat shrink tubing on the remote control's emmitter led. The range was still good but very directional.
