Can someone tell me what the maximum run is for HDMI. I have had so many different opinions.
Thanks

I was last told that the longest certifiable run was 4 meters. Altho we sell and install 10 and 15 meter cables (Havent got a 15 meter to work yet). I think until the format and technology wars are settled, none of us should support new technology or "Soon to ship" items in the industry. We only run a Bulk RGBWY, Cat5E a,dn 12/2 Romex to a projetor. If the client wants DVI or HDMI, we let them have our opinion about runs that long and explain it might not work. But if they insist, we chalk them down for the cable they want @ 400$ to 600$ a piece. (Hell, lets just all start running a Fiber backbone to the projector's and Plasma's)

HDMI is the worst connector in video
WTF were they thinking?
It has no clips , no set screws and holds juast as bad if not worse than the dreaded S-video.
If someone would make a HDMI connector - holder for components they'd get rich!
Ohh and we've had no probelems with 50' HDMI's yet --=- other than they fall off if ya blow on them!

The boss just totally destroyed a socket being impatient... It was kind of in the dark behind a plasma, but he definitely did not show enough patience... Tried to blame it on the wire...

We get 50 foot runs to work all day long. No issues at all, 30 and 40 feet also. Key Digital cables are Micro Balanced, they work great. Standard DVI and HDMI cabels I don't trust over 3 meters.

I have had several $onster $able HDMI400's bad at 4 and 6 meters. In fact none of them have worked. I have had success with the IXOS XS1500's at 3 Meter, but have not gone above that length yet. The cables are also less than half the retail/cost of the MC. Go figure? Any one use the geffen HDTV Extend It, which extends your HDMI over two CAT5's? Wonder if that works.
