I am trying to find a projector for a customer (builder's model) that is on the lower side of dollars but has discrete power and input commands. Why...I would like to inlcude an Intellicontrol (Niles) which would make it very easy for his sales people to operate. But I am open to any suggestions on the remote control side as well. Thank youfor your input in advance.

Can you be more specific than "lower side of dollars"?

If your looking for real cheap, try NEC. The HT410 retails in the $1500 range. We have used it for dedicated gaming systems with good results.

Less Expensive = Under $3000. Client wants HD.I should have been more specific. We sell Yamaha (LPX510) but of course that is too rich for his blood.

NEC will fit yuor bill easily. Why not use the full capability of your intelli and use the voltage sensing feature, the NEC will has triggers as most good PJs do.

I checked NEC's website, the HT410 does not have a 12v or any voltage output that i could find in the manual. Any other ideas?

You could just use the discrete IR codes for power and input. They're on the remote.

The 410 is not HD, it's 854x480. The 510 is 1024x576, still not HD, but within budget at 2 grand retail.

What about the Panny AE-700 - it might have discretes - I believe MSRP is $3K. It is a 1280x720 LCD Or look at the Sanyo Z3 (also $3k) but it would need and IR to RS2322 convertor as there are no IR discretes.

the Epson cinema 200+ [Link: epson.com] is a good 1280X720 projector for under 3k. It has discrete power/input, rs-232, 12 volt trigger, and a great picture for the price. The only drawback is no DVI or HDMI inputs(The RGB and Component look great however). Another nice feature is the "Lens Shift" which allows you to mount the projector slightly off-center(by as much as half of the screen width/height) and still get the image centered without any keystone.

I am not one to normaly suggest e-bay but since this is to be used as a builders demonstration unit, just buy an Infocus 5700 off e-bay for under $2000 [Link: cgi.ebay.com]
the HD picture quality is very good, you get both IR and serial discrete control and the thing has 12 volt trigger out

Customer support has been excellent so far. Product arrives when it is supposed to, farly well written manuals, simple menu system, discrete codes are on the oem remote. I haven't had to call tech support yet(haven't needed to). The next model up for 5k uses the cinema color editor software for setup/calibration that lets you sit in the room with your laptop open and have every color/setup control available in front of you at the same time-very nice.
No distributers however, factory direct only(at least in our area) The whole line is 3 PJs from 1k-5k, and a 47" and 57" RP LCD TVs.
Epson will have two models of true 1080p three LCD rear projection TVs and a front projector available just after Cedia also.
