I am adding two 32" lcds to a customers projection system. I want to be able to channel surf on one without affecting the other. For appearance purposes, I would like to use the same brand. Probably Toshiba. Are there brands with assignable remote codes? thanks joe

You could use an HT master MX850 remote and employ the assignable IR ports of the MRF300 RF base to achieve discrete IR control of the various units without affecting the others. Seems like the most elegant approach to me.

I've never 'met' a display with assignable codes.

FP Crazy has the best solution that I'm aware of.

If you are not using UR equipment then go get a xantech RT8 IR router. This will let you route IR with the control system of your choice.

Simple IR routing using HR, RTI or xantech is the way to go. MRF300 makes life very easy. Create your device, copy it and then set it to a different router port. Less than a minute to complete once you've programmed the first device. You can program favorite channels on the actual device pages too so that the favorites are display specific.

Will you be actually controlling the monitors or the sources for the monitors? Most DirecTV receivers can be stacked and IR assigned. Just a thought.

Fujitsu plasmas have assignable codes- there's 5 different code sets each screen can be assigned to
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

Thats a breath of fresh air!

I don't currently deal with Fujitsu.

I do think thats a good reason to consider them, though.
As long as the display is worthy!

The MR-F250 will do the same in this instance. The challenge is where do you want the sound to come from when selecting a Toshibas.

I like the sound to come from the HT. To do this, you will need to dedicate the video from the various main sources (like satellite or the cable box) directly to the projector (instead of thru the A/V receiver) so that when you select a toshiba the main (projector) screen doesn't go blank.

Problem arises when you discover the projector sometimes doesn't have enough inputs for the sources the client wants.

Aside from this problem, the MRF-250/300 makes it possible to dedicate a cable box or DSS to each Toshiba.

If you'd like an MX-file for some we've done I'd be happy to e-mail em to you.
Manuals?! We don't need no stinking manuals! a.. er..
