So I've been programming my first Elan Via! panel, I downloaded the latest software, and the IR library doesn't have most of what I want. I've also been trying to use their conversion program to convert .ccf files to via! files, I haven't found one that converts!

The panels are nice and the software isn't too bad, but it's always the little things that eat up soooo much time. I just can't believe their database is this limited. Am I missing something?

I am with you Matt!
On the ccf converter, if you are using WizzIt (Marantz's software) to work on files, you need to convert them so they will open with pronto edit. that should work for you. BTW, what version ov ViaTools are you using???

What are you looking for that's not in the library? The ccf utility isn't the greatest, however you can cut and paste pronto hex into the window in the converter. Of course, you always have the option of learning codes into the library.

Did ProntoEdit have every code you needed when you programmed your Pronto?

The library may not have the latest and greatest products to make your life easy, but thats all part of being a Custom Installer.

I have an entire library full of discreet codes (.ccf format that opens in Pronto Edit) that aren't in the Elan IR database. We use alot of Sim2 products, but they aren't even listed (I am runing version 5.3.1).

I don't have a problem learning codes, but the MX3000 has only been around for about a year and they have 10 times as many codes, at least! The biggest problem is I don't have time to transfer all my codes over (I'm the salesman, designer, programmer, and installer for a company with three employees looking to do $1.3m in our first year!) I just figured for as long as the panel has been around, there would be a better library.

Jack of all trades and master of none. Only selling 1.3M how many different products could you be dealing with?

Gotta ask; what do the other two people in the company do?

They both do sales, and one works the business aspect (i.e.-getting our inventory and sales software working like it should, dealing with bills, you know all the fun stuff). We're located in Lincoln, NE, so $1.3m in our first year is doing well; at least I think so. We use Meridian, Genelec, B&W, Rotel, Denon, Pioneer, Chord, Sim2, Epson, MIT, and more. Enough to keep me busy:)

I'm curious to know how many projects you will do this year? Are you taking 650k as a June YTD # and doubling it? I'm also wondering if this will be on paper ( W.I.P ) or completed work?

Yes, my $1.3 is a guesstimation calculated by what we have done, the projects in the works, and what we should do to follow pace. As far as projects go, I couldn't even guess at this moment. Most of our jobs are about $15-20k, plus we have retail.
