"Other advances in the new models include a new system monitoring function that remotely monitors plasma functions (on/off, slot-in-use indicator, e.g.) via a RS-232C port, another plus for digital signage use; and a new remote control with direct-input selection and 10-key numeric pad simplifying video wall set-up"

Some say the glass is half empty, some say the glass is half full, I say, are you going to drink that?

And the engineer says that the glass is twice the size it should be.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Well i'm no engineer and i like my gallon glass.

The Pana panels also are smaller with a 1/8" bezel so a 42" will be the same physical width as last years 37".

I set two up with an MX-850 recently and the input selection works fine, just as Fred said.

I'll take it. Especially compared to the panasonics that have a discrete off but no discrete on, so every macro starts with OFF then POWER (then DUMB.)
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
