Have not done an A/B comparison between the Pioneer Elite "PRO-xxxx" units and the Commerical "PDP-xx4-cmx" sets. Huge price difference.

Most importantly, pic. quality.

I know it is kind of a dumb question because I know the processing etc is different but I am really curious. Esp since I have noticed that some other commercial screens actually have better pictures than their commercial counterparts.

What do you guys think?

I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

I have not seen any commercial units but I do know the Elites vs the regs has quite a difference in depth and contrast. I have been installing mostly Hitachis(yuck) and Panasonics (even yuckier...cough...vomit) lately so I have not even seen a new Pioneer Elite. The sales peeps at my joint get excited about new stuff and sell the pants off of it. I love how sales guys think a new plasma with half the price, half the res, and half the ass look better then a good Elite. I always have to go in to the store and whack a head on the counter and show them the advantage of a good display. I swear all they see are just lego blocks, not actually pixels.

If this were not a public forum.......Night and day. Same glass but the electronics are world's apart. If the monitor were not so hard to come by I'd have a Elite 810DHD hanging in my 8x10 TV room ( only in NY could a house this small cost more than a house 3x as large anywhere else. ) I go back and forth on the Elite vs Fujitsu as to which has the better picuture. The commerical is ok, especially with the accessory video card but I would take a LG HD over the commercial Pioneer. Rumor has it that next year's models the difference between Elite and non elite consumer units will be nill. Only issue is connectivity on the monitor units. Only one input of each type.
