Looking for feedback on using a Samsung rear projection DLP in a bar / restaurant. Any issues with cigarette smoke or longevity?

TIA

If you are leaving it on all day and into the night, bulb life will be an issue, and they aren't cheap...

Don't even think about controlling it with a universal remote. Discretes and time delays are a gigantic pain.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

Thanks for all the responses. I guess I will put a rear projection Sony LCD in. Did Sony LCD over a year ago in a VFW hall and no problems to date yet.

I'd check into nicotine residue on a DILA set first... Nicotime residue might be as bad for a DILA as it is for a DLP...

But, if it's not that big a deal, the 70" JVC is awesome.
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

Color Wheel bearings do not like nicotine.

I have a Samsung DLP at a customers house with the complaint of "black shadows" in the picture occasionally. I saw them one time when I was there but he can't duplicate it forthe tech so he's SOL. looked like a 3" oval shadow in the picture. Somedays it's there and some it isn't.
And the delay bugs the hell out of him.

Samsung dlp is by far the BEST for a bar, as long as it's OK to smoke!! By far best picture, viewing angle, etc... anyone who say's difrent 1) works for Sony (who by the way is having samsung oem plasmas 4 them... ) 2) Definitely didnt go to vegas. 3) must be blinded by the light, or maybe conrtrast ratio.
I have many Samsung dlps in the worst bar environment, with no problems.
Had many problems originaly with front projection lcd (eiki), the smoke would kill the pic, and gum up the multi-million mirror technology.
Installed a eiki 3500 dlp onto 12'x9' (actualy a screenwall with "screen goo" ) Totally recomend it!!(best HDTV in miami)
anyway go with the samsung, It's the best dlp period.
P.S:don't get me wrong if you can afford it get a 40" lcd monitor, no srike that , don't waste ur money, it's 4 a bar..
