Maybe with X-10.

I've had success with an IR to RS232 converter from Celadon. IR controlled contact closures and 12v triggers are available from Xantech. There are other companies providing similar devices as well

Hi Jose,

don't forget that when replacing a control system you lose the logic capabilities built into AMX/CRESTRON. All logic has to be realised within pronto's UI.
May work for a special purpose but not in general...

BTW: Do you get european x10 gear for 230V?

yes I do.
Are you interested??

I think you are right about the utilities of AMX/Crestron, I will use them in complex systems.

You can use a pronto in conjunction with a home automation controller to get the 'logic' functions like a crestron or AMX system. I have the Ocelot from ADI and like it alot.

I have automated my home theater and other things in my home for less than 1/2 the cost of a 'high end' system.

OK, might work if you put _a_lot_ of effort in it.
I don't say it's impossible.

If you use one _system_ it's easier to get a specific result.
As I charge my clients per complete system including programming it has to be payd. Either the material or my additional time. I prefer material as it costs me less headache and I can do more as time is somewhat limited (we only have 24h/day, ya know? ;-)

If you are working on your install on your own and don't have to pay someone else for it, all is fine.

thats right Chris,
I couldn't todl better.

But in the market I work, the Spanish, the only way to be competitive is to be imaginative. Here everybody installs AMX, only one company do the program (the same that sells)and everybody think it's great...wow, the courtains move by theyrselves!!! ;-)
I'm just trying to find different tendences and new ways to those courtains...
So thank you guys for helping me this way :-)
